Early on a Winter Morning…

I’m getting ready to go to work. I peek outside; the parking lot is silent and the cars are sitting there, waiting for their owners to begin their day. On the other side of the house, the Christmas lights twinkle, and the street is bare and empty and cold.

It’s 22 degrees (F) outside. I think to myself that it would have been nice to stay at home today; to have a four day weekend. Maybe next year I’ll ask off. I’ve not been off between the holidays since High School when I didn’t have a job.

So I pack lunches, make toast, smear peanut butter on my breakfast, and warm up tea in the microwave to warm my soul. It’s quiet in the house this morning. I like quiet.

Later on this afternoon, when I return, I’ll have to leave on errands again for a little while. But although I’m not a morning person even on good days, sometimes I need this quiet to be able to relax a little before I have to put on my public face for everyone else around me.

Good morning, life. Tomorrow it will be another year, and I can’t wait to see what happens in it.

More later…

Done for the evening. I got everything done on my list. I’m really proud of myself. :)

Got a late Christmas present too–my mom got me a Harry Potter ornament. He’s riding his broom and catching the Snitch. It’s cute. It’s going to hang on the bottom of my new corkboard with the ornament they got me last year–an orange and white kitty angel playing a flute (he looks just like Punkin.)

Yes, I am so very sappy. I started to cry when I saw it. :)

Chris brought home meat (Honeybaked Ham from Mom and Dad and some beef from his parents.) Yummy. I know what I’m having for lunch tomorrow!

The New AbNo is actually turning out to be quite fun. Susan (remember Susan? Susan of the cut 30 pages) first discovers a vampire standing outside the store in the middle of an ice storm, and then after he vanishes, finds a purple-haired fairy. I’m still trying to figure out what her name is. She wants an ‘E’, I think. And she just told me her name. Ellery. Odd name for a fairy, but hey. I never get to pick. Ellery Something, but I don’t know what yet. I’m sure it will come to me. *g*

More tomorrow… Goodnight.

Updates:

Well, I’m still in the office. I’m trying to decide what to do about my desk. I have it cleared off and semi-organized, but it’s not quite working.

I hung up the clipboard. I told my husband that letting me loose with a screw thingy drill was not the brightest idea in the world, but hey. The clipboard is up. It has one item on it.

Unfortunately, even extra magnets did not help the calendar stick on the fridge. It keeps sliding down. I’m not sure what I’m going to do about it. *sigh*

Oh, and I posted some more auctions. whooee.

So. Once I figure out what I’m going to do about my desk, I will be done in the office except for taking three laundry baskets full of stuff down the basement. That should be interesting. :)

Updates:

Clean Bathroom DONE

Left on my list:

Continue Laundry

Clean office, including desk (doing that now)

Go to PO (this can be done second to last.)

Do Dishes/Clean Kitchen (I should have time; it’s only 2pm.)

Write 1000 words on the new AbNo (shouldn’t have any problem doing this tonight.)

Also to do today:

Hang up corkboard and my organizational calendar. I glued magnets on the back of the fridge calendar, and I have to hang up the other one. Not quite sure where yet. Somewhere over my desk where I can see it, but also where it will be easy to reach.

Hang up my poster of “The Accolade” in the bedroom.

Bring a handful more paperbacks upstairs; my favorites. I’m attempting to get to the point where I don’t have any books at all down the basement except for the craft books, but I’m not sure that will work. I might end up with only one bookcase downstairs, and that’s not so bad.

All in all, today has been a good day so far. Hopefully it will continue to be a good day. :)

Do Dishes (1/2 hour.)

Added to my list if there’s time:

Clean kitchen.

Bedroom is done. All I have to do is sweep. So that’s the first thing I’m going to do this morning after breakfast, I think.

I really like blogs. This helps me keep my thoughts in order, you know? And gives me a running log of my thoughts. *g* As if anyone really cares. :)

I have seven things to do today. All of these things should be emminently(sp?) possible to finish. If I spend Monday evening cleaning downstairs, then on New Year’s Day and beyond, I can tackle the basement. Yippee! Kind of.

I could have started from the basement up, but I knew there were things upstairs that I wanted to take down the basement, and upstairs needed to be cleaned and organized as well. So yeah, I’m leaving the basement until last, but I think I’m okay with that. I’d better be, at least.

Worked for about two hours on the new AbNo yesterday. Will work on it for only one hour today, methinks, unless I happen to get done early. We’ll see.

More later, I’m sure…

In my quest to become more organized, I now have a Submission Blog. :)

http://submission.blogspot.com/

I’m getting the hang of these things!

December 30, 2001

Well. I know I said I would take some time off writing, but you know what? I had 32 pages just sitting there of the Bookstore story (The original AbNo story)… and I can’t… I can’t… I can’t resist…

I shouldn’t be so surprised. I’ve never been able to take a vacation before. So I’m officially renaming AbNo (the finished one) something else; I’m just not quite sure what. This current WIP will be AbNo from now on. Let’s all get confused, why don’t we? (grin)

Well. Let’s see. I have laundry to fold, and then (gasp) the bedroom’s done! Wow. And then I get to work on the hall closet, whoopee. I haven’t started the laundry yet, but I might still tonight. Bathroom would be really easy to finish before I go to bed tonight, too. We shall see.

I miss the boards. (sniff) I want to post updates, and I can’t!!!

More later, I’m sure. I seem to be really addicted to blogs today. Or something.

December 29, 2001

Okay. This should be it for a while, I hope! Back to cleaning. :)

December 29, 2001

Been wasting time. Spent the better part of two hours playing with my template settings. One last thing to do, and it’s back to cleaning!
