Today I…

planted most of my stuff in the little garden, cut my mint back again and also trimmed the lemon balm, made a list of things to get done this week (I’m only working three days this week, which should be interesting, since the ‘new job’ begins tomorrow), and basically spent most of the day outside working, just like yesterday.

Oh, yesterday I mowed and helped Dad in payment for him helping me with the Rearranging of the Storage.

And my -ahem- fans should be happy: I got bit by Bound in Shadows, the last book in the Shadows Trilogy over the weekend and after rereading PoS and LiS, I think I’m ready to start it. Yay!

Anything else? I reorganized my desk last night. It didn’t need to be badly organized, just cleaned up a little. I’m actually liking this organization thing. :)

And I thought of something I wanted to blog about earlier, but it’s not coming to me now. I’ll have to think on it and see if I can remember what it was.

Whew! The thermometer read 103.5 degrees (it was sitting in the sun and the indicator was inside a plastic bag), the boxes were even heavier this time around, but Mom, Dad, Bekah, and I successfully rearranged and organized my storage compartment! Yay! Now I can access ALL my craft supplies, as well as just about anything else I might want to get to, including my entire inventory of story stuff.

This is so cool, because it means I won’t have to buy a single craft supply for the craft show in November. Whooooeee!!

The third anniversary celebration/open house of the Brown County Writers Group was tonight. I had a lot of fun! We played a game, and I got to meet some new people. Hopefully some of the new people will return. :) I wore my tie-dye patchwork skirt from Pier 1, and I think everyone really liked it too. (It’s my favorite skirt. I don’t wear it often, adn the elastic is gone, but I love it dearly. I wore it with a purple tank top, and I think it looked great together! Finally! I found a shirt to wear with it.)

I also brought ten copies of The Tenth Ghost to sell, and sold four of them. I also donated a copy to the library. Grand total of today’s sales: 8 copies! Not bad at all! I might have to order some more copies. Geez.

I feel like I’ve gotten absolutely nothing done this week, but also that I’ve been insanely busy.

I’m not so sure about the insanely busy part, but I’ve definitely been busier than normal. Monday was the conference call, Tuesday an afternoon-long meeting at work, Wednesday another meeting at another office, Thursday… well, I went to the dentist this morning, and I’m taking Jess down the road for a blood test in about 45 minutes. I also sold four copies of The Tenth Ghost, thanks to Mom’s promotion efforts, while I was up at St. George’s taking pictures for Mom. So that was a good thing! :)

About the dentist…

I’ve never had a cavity. Ever. But I was a bit worried, because I hadn’t been to the dentist in two years. Well, I don’t have cavities, but I also don’t brush my teeth well, and I need to use sensitive teeth toothpaste. (I kind of already knew this.) It was a bit funny. First she scrapes the heck out of my teeth, makes my gums bleed and everything, and then she says, “You have such wonderful teeth!” But at least that’s over for now.

Let’s see. Anything else? I’m still working on Meet the Parents, but I’m also going to rewrite it a bit and add in some other viewpoints. I think it wants to be a novel, and who am I to say no way?

Yesterday I went to an auction with Dad and got some cool original artwork for my walls as well as a print of deadly nightshade that I just had to have. :) I also got three cool goblets and a stained glass lamp. All in all, I spent $25, which I still owe to Dad. (This is my reminder to pay him back…)

The rest of the day was spent working around the yard, although we never got around to mowing. We took Bekah out for her birthday (Chinese) and had a great time. Ethan loved the pudding. :)

Other than that, I finished rereading AbNo and I edited the start of the second book a bit. I’m going to try to submit that one this week. I hope.

There’s a teleconference call at work today about the new jobs, changes, etc., so hope and pray I’m still able to flex off one day during the week and that the day is Monday. Or Friday. That would be nice!

I made Bekah two birthday cards this evening: one from Ethan, that says “Happy Birthday to the best Mommy Ever” and one from me & Jess, since we’re going in together on her gift. Ethan’s going to give her a picture of himself, using one of the picture frames I got today from Vicki. Thanks, Vicki!

Let’s see. I’m rereading AbNo in preparation to submit it, and I’ve decided to take the ”other” AbNo and change all the names, settings, etc., and have a whole other story! Yay. So that should work. :)

Anything else? Still working on “Meet the Parents”. I went to my cousin’s graduation party today, as well as the Butterfly Show at Krohn Conservatory and got a lot of cool pictures. I will see about posting a couple here.

And that’s about it. I’m VERY HAPPY my blog is working again!!

Still not fixed?

June 20, 2003

Am I the only person in America would could really care less about the next Harry Potter book coming out? Oh, I’ll buy it, and I’ll read it, but this hype is a bit much for my taste. I think it’s getting a bit ridiculous.

According to Blogger, this problem I’m having is priority 2. I hope that means it will be fixed soon, because I’m getting kind of mad about this bug thingy. Argh.

Did that work? This is getting a bit irritating!!
