So… I discovered that some of my old gang from the library are back in town! Whooeee! I will have to go say hi. Maybe next week, since this weekend will be cleaning for Ethan’s b-day party.

I can’t believe I haven’t updated all week. I’m so bad.

But Ethan’s story is done, printed, and bound quite nicely by Kinko’s, and I’ve been working on a lot of different things. I’ve been busy enough at work as well, but I really have to stop eating out every day. (So far, every day this week! Ack.) But anyway…

After thinking and thinking and thinking about what to get Ethan for his birthday, I finally decided what I wanted to do yesterday afternoon: Write him a story.

Now, having a story with a one-year-old character is a bit difficult, don’t you think? Well, I thought so too, but after I decided to make it a Magical Balloon story, and after I designed the cover for the ‘book’ (I’m going to see if Kinko’s can print it and bind it), I am now on page 15 and still going strong.

I’m planning to post it to my website as a free ebook when I’m finished; I’m having too much fun not to share this with everyone in honor of Ethan’s first birthday. (Which is Friday!!)

Pirates of the Caribbean is the best movie I’ve seen all year!!!!!! Johnny Depp should get an Oscar or whatever award they give out to good actors. :)

It was great. Go see it!!! I want to see it again!!!!

And then, after Wednesday, comes Thursday.

I actually made it to the writers group meeting tonight, which was fun, as usual. I really like this group! But I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to make it from work to the meeting in a decent span of time, so I hadn’t tried it until now. Although traffic was bad in the expected places, I ended up ten minutes early, just in time to pay my library fines. Whooee. :)

Let’s see. Wrote more on BiS today, but didn’t get very far. I’m going to try to write a bit tonight before I head off to bed. At the moment, I’m downstairs to put Benadryl on my bug bites (one of which is on my wrist, of all places!) and then head upstairs for the third time this evening.

Ethan will be one next Friday. I can’t believe it’s been a year already!!

It’s Wednesday already?!? Geez. Time flies.

Honestly, working this new job, time does seem to go faster. Which is both good and bad, imo. And it’s not a bad job. I should see the results of my raise on Friday.

I had to redo a bit on BiS, but I think it’s back on track now. I might post an excerpt if the story and I are ever together on an internet accessible computer.

Whew. This weekend was a blur, what with the yard sale on Saturday and Burlington on Sunday. I feel like I walked all weekend long, which probably isn’t a bad assumption. At least my knee held out. :)

Here are Dad’s dishes. This is not Dad selling them, and he doesn’t have as many, but look at that price!

I didn’t get a lot at Burlington this month, but I did find a Singer Sewing Machine made in 1919! And it works!! I have always wanted one, but they’ve been too expensive.

July 20, 2003

Well, today was the yard sale, and while it was not a complete success, I did make almost $50. So that wasn’t too bad.

I stopped at quite a few yard sales, but only managed to get a couple of things: a carnival glass bowl (not really old, but cool; it has impressed roses both inside and outside, which I’ve never seen before), a set of juice glasses with flowers on them, a small pie plate, and a blue/green McCoy planter. Total spent was $14.

Dad, however, went earlier, and got a box full of Spode dishes for $6.50. Now, that’s a bargain!

Tomorrow is Burlington. Fun. :)

The lady I work with whose house burned down (who is doing much better now, thank goodness) gave me a 30 gallon aquarium for Fester. (Since it was ‘in’ the fire and the glass was compromised (according to the fire dept.) it can no longer be used for fish, but it’s fine for Fester.) So I bought a lid, cleaned it out really good, and let it air out and dry all day. It’s sitting up in my room at the moment, and I’m planning to fix it up for Fester when we get home tomorrow.

He will be so happy to have some room to stretch out. He’s been in a 20 gallon long aquarium almost his whole life.

July 18, 2003

Aha. There it is. I just opened up the blogger page and nothing showed up.

I’ve been busy this week, obviously. Obviously from my lack of posts, that is. We’re supposed to have a yard sale on Saturday, and I don’t have a thing priced yet or anything, but oh well. I’m selling mostly books anyway, and whatever doesn’t sell will go directly to Goodwill.

I’ve had it with clutter. :)

And I don’t have much to say tonight. I’m still alive. That counts, right?

July 15, 2003

I always get in a pensive mood when I reread old stories. Not a bad mood, just pensive.

Today’s mood stems from a short story that I wrote oh, back in 98, I think, or thereabouts. I came across a fragment of it the other day, and it hasn’t stopped bothering me since. Today I visited Storage (it’s a name now, not just a place; a sleepy dragon that holds my possessions captive for a while) and meandered through two containers of ’story stuff’ in quest of that particular story. I didn’t find it, but I did find quite a few other interesting things that I liberated from the boxes and brought back with me.

And now, of course, I want to finish one particular story that has been giving me fits forever. :)

And I did get everything done on my original list for the weekend. I’m impressed!
