Gas is anywhere from $2.99-$3.09 at the moment, with the majority being $3.09 (of probably eight gas stations on the way home, two were $2.99 and the rest were $3.09.)

Yikes.

I have started to track how many miles I actually drive, starting today. I will do this monthly for three months, I think, and then get an average so I can see how much it costs me to drive my car per year.

I filled up my car for $2.56 this morning–and it still cost me $20.

And Katrina is here. (Actually, she’s been here since yesterday.)

We’ve gotten over five inches of rain since the weekend, but I really can’t complain, seeing how it is in Louisiana and Mississippi and Alabama. We need rain here. So in a weird way, Katrina is a blessing.

The one person I know ‘in real life’ who goes to school in New Orleans is safe, so that’s good. I can only hope and pray for everyone else, like this guy.

I have to get ready to go to work. So, more later, perhaps, after I get home.

Gourds! Lots and lots of gourds. The vine has gone nuts, and has even twined itself up my hibiscus. *sigh*

I don’t know what kind of rose this is, but it’s been blooming all year long. I didn’t even know it was there when I cleared out the bed for the mint this year–someone had cut it all the way back and it sprouted this spring. It smells as good as it looks!

Zinnia. They all seem to be the same color. I will definitely plant more of these next year–I love them!

These are the bookcases I was painting for the kitchen. Just realized I’d never posted a picture of them finished. Lavender on the inside, and the blue of the kitchen on the outside. And full now, as you can see. (Some of my teapot collection on top.)

kitty feeding station and bunk beds. Each bed will have a quilt. I’m not sure they can get up to the highest one, but that’s ok.

The only thing I have left at Mom and Dad’s house is my big wooden box that still has some of my bead stash in it. Everything else, as far as I know, is here!

Well, I did work in my office today. I managed to clean up enough to fit the table, which didn’t fit through the door, so we had to bring it in sideways. (The bookcase that now houses my storystuff was in the way.)

I still have a big pile of fabric to go through, sort, and put away, and two and a half boxes/containers of other stuff to go through, sort, and put away (or toss), but there’s a marked improvement even now.

And this evening, my goal is to finish the living room. There’s not all that much to finish, and then I can cross it off my list and move on! Yay!

Of course I am finding out that things are taking a little more time than I expected, just due to the amount of stuff I need to go through. Ah well. I’m still doing good so far.

Yes, I’m up late tonight/this morning. I’m not tired yet. Just finished watching Sahara with Bekah a little while ago, and I’m just not ready to go to bed just yet. Thank goodness I don’t have to get up tomorrow morning.

Let’s see. The green room is done, except for a container and a very small pile. The bathroom looks positively empty, and all we did was take out the wooden screen thingy, move the litterboxes, and add a table. (Okay, Bekah cleaned and organized, so I only helped move stuff.) Tomorrow I will get the shelf I made a long time ago to make a three-story cat sleeping shelf (I’ll have pics if it works out, I’m sure.) The kitchen is clean, for the most part.

My intentions are to work in my office and the living room tomorrow, and probably the hallway/entry room on Monday. So we’ll see how much we really get done this weekend. But the first day ended up going quite well! (Ethan is on vacation with his other grandparents, so that’s why it’s kind of easy to concentrate on certain things.)

I also have to return Deb’s crate and pick up the cage she got me for Hildy sometime Sunday or Monday as well. But that should be doable, too.

I think I’ll go write until I get tired and go to bed.
